🐾 Keeping Our Pack Healthy: Holiday Safety & Health Policies

During peak holiday seasons, our kennel fills up with eager guests. Because dogs are in closer proximity during these times, the risk of contagious illnesses like Kennel Cough naturally increases—it only takes a single case to spark a chain reaction.

To help us maintain a safe, happy, and healthy environment for every pet, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Keep Sick Pets at Home: To protect the entire Land of Oz family, please do not bring your dog to board if they are showing any signs of illness.
  • Vaccinate Early: We highly recommend scheduling your dog’s Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine at least two weeks prior to their stay. This allows their immune system ample time to build full protection.
  • Pack Their Usual Food: Sudden dietary changes in a new environment frequently cause digestive upset and diarrhea. Bringing your pet’s regular food prevents unnecessary stress and keeps their tummy happy.
  • Keep Us Informed: If your dog develops a cough or any other symptoms after returning home, please let us know immediately. Keeping us in the loop allows us to monitor the facility closely and adapt our sanitation protocols right away if needed.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our facility a safe, clean vacation destination for all of our furry guests!

THINGS TO WATCH FOR WHEN YOU GET BACK HOME:

🏡 Welcome Home! Post-Stay Care Tips

When your dog first gets home, they might be incredibly excited or eager to settle back into their routine. To help them transition smoothly, please keep the following tips in mind:

  • Monitor Food & Water Intake: If your pet didn't drink or eat quite as much as usual while away, they may try to overdo it once they get home. Drinking too much water too quickly can cause vomiting, so it's best to offer small, controlled amounts of food and water at first.
  • Expect a Tired Pup: It is completely normal for your dog to be exhausted after their stay! They've had a busy vacation filled with play and socialization. Enjoy the peace and quiet—they will be back to their normal, energetic selves in a couple of days.

Our Commitment to You We take immense pride in the high standards of cleanliness, personalized attention, exercise, and comfort we provide every single guest. We do everything we can to ensure your dog stays happy and healthy in our care. If you notice any health changes or ailments after they return home, please let us know so we can adjust our protocols and better serve you next time.

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to take care of your beloved family member!
